2009 O SCALE NATIONAL CONVENTION

Welcome to the 2009 O Scale National Convention hosted by The Baltimore O Scale Society (BOSS) and the Baltimore Society of Model Engineers (BSME). The Convention dates are June 18th through June 20th, 2009. As we have prepared for this event, we have talked to many of the vendors and attendees at various O scale shows across the country and have constructed this convention based on the input we received.

The convention will be held at Towson University, 8000 York Road, Baltimore, Maryland, 21204. We will have exclusive use of the Student Union Building providing a spacious venue for vendor tables, displays, clinics, dining, and informal chats.

The trading halls will be open all day on June 18th and 19th and a half-day on Saturday, June 20th. Our banquet will be a "heavy" hors d'oeuvres reception held on Friday night freeing Saturday night for other activities or an early departure. The reception will include the programs you've come to expect from past banquets. There is a cash bar.

We have also secured dormitory lodging in the surrounding buildings. As this is not a hotel setting, there is no TV (bring one if you'd like) and the bathroom is shared with one other room, but the room rates start at $83 (per person/per night) and includes three meals! Registered guests in the dorms receive free admission to the Friday night reception. See the "On-Campus Lodging" page at our website for more details.

Vendor set-up begins on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 17th. Afterwards, there will be a vendor reception held on Wednesday evening, courtesy of O SCALE TRAINS magazine. There is a cash bar.

Our O Scale Convention includes 3-rail scale modelers, narrow gauge, trolley and other renditions of O Scale railroading. If you are modeling in another scale, but have been wondering about 2-rail O scale, please join us! The vendor tables, displays and clinics will be full of 2 rail equipment, so it is a good time to experience and learn of the appeal of O scale.
